May 5 – BA really needs to get their act together

When we arrived at the airport we were told by LAN – none too kindly - that on one of the tickets the airport tax was not included, i.e. properly coded and that we wouldn’t be allowed on board unless we paid Airport taxes on one of the tickets. When we showed the LAN agent that the prices on both tickets were the same they still told us that the coding was f***d up and that we need to pay them the tax and ask for it back from BA. LAN as a BA partner apparently could either not be bothered or knew that they wouldn’t see a cent from BA so were passing the debt recovery problem down to us the costomer)? Upon arrival in Buenos Aires we wanted to speak with BA – as exceptionally there was a BA counter – only to be told that the BA people showed up for flights only. Of course, there was no getting through on the phone no we were given ... are complaints about Bloody Awful will be the subject of a letter to the UK and French press.
